Core values are the fundamental beliefs upon which your business and its behavior are based. They are the guiding principles that your business uses to manage its internal affairs, as well as its relationship with customers or clients. So, if your mission or purpose defines your organizational destination, your core values define how to behave on the trip.
You may recall from a previous post that Challenging Organizations to Discover Who They Are, Understand What Business They Are Actually In, and Confidentially Articulate Their Why is our purpose at NextLevel Thinking. So, if that is our destination, how do we behave on the trip?
Our first core value is Giving the Client What They Need, Not Just What They Want. Seeing the needs of a client is our specialty. Being able to help them understand what they need beyond what they want is one of the keys to their, and our, success.
Our second core value is We Listen Before We Lead. We listen to our client, study their marketplace, and talk to their customers. It’s only after this communication takes place that we are fully equipped to lead them on a journey of discovery and growth.
And finally, our third core value is Everyone Needs What We Offer. They Just May Not Be Ready For It. The right kind of client for our firm usually understands that real sustained growth requires work and plenty of company soul-searching.
Not every organization is currently equipped to take on this type of initiative. But we are willing to wait until the timing is right for both of us.
