Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center

The objective of this initiative was to permanently increase the blood supply in the Texas Gulf Coast Region. The first step in the process was to understand how donors and non-donors felt about the concept of blood donation.

Our findings allowed us to guide The Blood Center out of the blood business and into the life business. The focal point was the phrase Commit for Life. This phrase became a point of differentiation and a new way of doing business.

People working together to save lives by donating blood…that is what Commit for Life is all about.

The Y Factor

At the Y Factor, the physician-led team of urology experts is dedicated to the study and practice of men’s urological health and wellness. Your health matters, which is why they have dedicated their efforts to the comprehensive care of their patients.

Their urologically-inspired approach ensures a diagnosis based on an overall understanding of the underlying cause of your health problem.  Identifying the source of your health issues creates a pathway to collaboratively work together with them to develop life-enhancing treatments targeted at improving vitality and quality of life.

Life Source

The folks at Life Source are compassionately driven and were looking for ways to communicate with those individuals willing to embrace the pursuit of impacting lives on a regular basis.

Brightening lives through blood donations means recipients and their families may have a gift of life and a promise of hope. For the donor, it is the selfless way of giving that comes with helping others in such an impactful way.

Brighten Life!

United Blood Services

Changing ads in a campaign from time to time may be necessary to keep it fresh, but such changes don’t have to interfere with the consistency of the brand’s voice. And that was the case with the UBS Hero brand.

The challenge was moving from helping donors feel like a hero to making blood donation an important part of who they are.

As a result, United Blood Services is now helping people find the hero in themselves!!!

Central Blood Bank

It’s simple really. Central Blood Bank wanted to ask donors to do two things.

One, take time each quarter to brighten the lives of others in the community…by donating blood. And two, encouraging donors to share their lifesaving experience with family and friends.

They call that…Brighten Life!

San Diego Blood Bank

You are the key to making a difference. And all we ask is that you donate blood one more time each year. So, if you normally donate once a year, a second visit could help save twice the lives. If you now donate twice; how about three?

Think of the difference you can make with just one more blood donation. That’s the difference in life.

The Blood Center of Central Texas

Austin, Texas is an island of liberalism in the vast Texas landscape. To the people who choose to make Austin their home, it is the center of the universe – the best place to live in the best state in the country.

The marketing strategy needed a unique personality to fit this distinctive city. Professionally funky seemed to work and Life is in your hands delivered.

What’s the most inspiring part of your job?

My absolute best days are when we’re able to help a client see their business differently. It’s usually at this point when things begin to take off and the effectiveness of what we can do for them begins to be realized both internally and externally in a very powerful way.

The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is don’t get too high on the highs and too low on the lows. This advice was from my high school basketball coach.
If you could possess one super-human power, what would it be?

I think it would be so cool to be able to fly. The different vantage points would be amazing and the ability to get places quickly would be awesome.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

As a young fella, I probably wanted to be the usual things like a policeman, fireman, etc. But from high school on, I have always wanted to own my own business. In graduate school, my buddies were sure that I would make a living helping people/organizations see things from a different perspective. They were right!

What advice would you give a candidate who wants to join our team of superstars?

Be prepared to deliver absolute excellence, while being part of a very caring, results-oriented, drama-free work environment.

What one food do you wish had zero calories?

There are a whole bunch of food categories that I wish had zero calories. If I had to pick one, it would definitely be tortilla chips with guacamole, chili con queso and/or salsa.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

My favorite thing to do, by far, is to hang out with my family…Tracy, Erin, Trey and Kyle. My peeps!

Which of the three NextLevel Thinking core values resonates the most with you?

I think giving the client what they need, not just what they want really defines NextLevel Thinking. We have seen some extraordinary results from those clients that have really embraced this collaborative approach.
