Team Spotlight: Kristen Dyson

Kristen, or “KD” as she is known to our team, began her journey with NextLevel Thinking in December of 2016. Over the last five and a half years, KD has brought her amazing writing skills, great attention to detail, and strong work ethic to a variety of projects. We asked KD to reflect on her time here with NLT:

Do you have any milestone moments or favorite memories from your time here so far?

“Getting to interact in-person with the Pine Cove team while working on their recruiting project is one of my favorite moments, by far. There is just something so special and truly different about the people of Pine Cove. They are such an uplifting, positive group to work with. I learned so much from working with them. Also, the photoshoot I did for Gainsborough Waste & Texas Outhouse. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever envision myself working with waste and portable toilet companies *laughs* but it was an amazing learning experience. The shoot we did was multi-day and included a lot of large, heavy equipment that took some logistics to coordinate. Previous photoshoots I had done all revolved around food and beverages, so this was very different for me, but exciting at the same time. In the end, the pictures turned out epic! It was well worth the effort needed to coordinate.”

How would you describe what it is like to work at NextLevel Thinking?

“I mean this in the most non-cheesy way possible, but working with NLT has been life-changing for me. Not just in what I’ve learned since working for Eric, which is insurmountable, but on a personal level. I’ve gone through a couple of really tough trials in my personal life since coming on board with NLT, and Eric and the team have been so supportive through each one. Never in my life have I worked with such a supportive team, or had a boss who strives to coach his employees the way Eric does. In previous positions I’ve worked in, I’ve always been thrown to the wolves and left to figure things out on my own. And while I think there is some value in that, it’s a much more holistic experience when you have a boss who actually wants to invest time in your growth. He’s truly in my court, and I can’t ever thank him enough for that.”

When asked what it is like working with KD, this is what Eric Poerschke had to say:

“KD is just a special person! Every team needs a contrarian, and she is that for NLT. She always makes us think a little harder and a little deeper, and for a firm like ours that is in the thinking business that value is hard to measure. For many years we found our creative inspiration through artistic concepts. KD has taught us the power of words. Some of the things that she has come up with for clients in the way of positioning and messaging has been crazy good. Our firm is a better place because of KD!”

Thank you KD for all of your hard work and leadership, we are grateful to have you on our team!
