Team Spotlight: Kristen Dyson

Kristen, or “KD” as she is known to our team, began her journey with NextLevel Thinking in December of 2016. Throughout her time on our team, KD has brought her amazing writing skills, great attention to detail, and strong work ethic to a variety of projects. We asked KD to reflect on her time here with NLT:

Do you have any milestone moments or favorite memories from your time here so far?

“Getting to interact in-person with the Pine Cove team while working on a recruiting project for them is one of my favorite moments, by far. There is something so special and truly different about the people of Pine Cove. They are such an uplifting, positive group to work with. I learned so much from that experience with them. I’ve also really enjoyed the opportunity to work in the construction industry with clients B&D Landscape Contractors and Renfrow+Co. Construction is not an industry I ever pictured myself working in. The bulk of my marketing experience lies in food and beverage. So I sometimes laugh at the fact that I work in construction now because I’m so not handy. All three of my siblings have construction-related careers, yet I somehow escaped it up until about three years ago! I’ve since gotten to know a lot about the industry and have come to really enjoy it.”

How would you describe what it is like to work at NextLevel Thinking?

“I mean this in the most non-cheesy way possible, but working with NLT has been life-changing for me. Not just in what I’ve learned since working with Eric, which is insurmountable. But on a personal level. I’ve gone through some really tough trials in my life since coming on board with NLT, and Eric and the team have been super supportive through each one. Never in my life have I worked with a team who is always there to lift me up, or had a mentor like Eric who strives to coach his team. In previous roles I’ve worked in, I’ve always been thrown to the wolves and largely left to figure things out on my own. And while there is some value in that, it’s much more impactful to work with a team that actually wants to invest in your growth. Eric is truly in my court, and I can’t ever thank him enough for that.”

When asked what it is like working with KD, this is what Eric Poerschke had to say:

“KD is just a special person! Every team needs a contrarian, and she is that for NLT. She always makes us think a little harder and a little deeper, and for a firm like ours that is in the thinking business that value is hard to measure. For many years we found our creative inspiration through artistic concepts. KD has taught us the power of words. Some of the things that she has come up with for clients in the way of positioning and messaging have been crazy good. Our firm is a better place because of KD!”

Thank you KD for all of your hard work and leadership. We are grateful to have you on our team!
